As she celebrates another trip around the sun, do you know what makes Elsa even MORE beautiful? For her birthday, unlike many people who want to be wined and dined at some expensive restaurant where just the tip costs half as much as my latest transmission repair bill, she wanted us to go with her on a hike to her favorite little swimming hole near our little town of Alamos. So, along with Jose’s girlfriend Mariana, we hiked a couple km up “La Colorada” tree-lined trail and spent a couple hours there together, jumping off rocks into the cool, refreshing water.
God truly blessed me when he gave me Elsa. Somebody who gets more joy out of serving others on a mission trip to Guatemala then BEING served drinks on a cruise ship. Someone who isn’t impressed by fancy things or the amount of money spent on a gift. Someone who starts every day off with a prayer we say together. Someone who is kind to everyone, rich or poor, young or old, friend or stranger.
Am so glad we got the day with her, and that she got to have a nice birthday dinner with friends! Feliz cumpleanos Elsa, and many more!
